CAha centre - events for Older People and Carers

The Lauragh and Tuosist Christmas Community Lunch will take place on Friday 21 November at 1pm in Helen’s Bar in Kilmacalogue.  The cost is €15pp.

The monthly crochet group will meet  in Ardgroom from 2-3.30pm on Monday 24 November.  Contribution of €5 to cover venue hire / tea & coffee.  Beginners and advanced welcome.


Chair Tai Chi classes in The Caha House, Ardgroom every Tuesday 11am.

A music and performance session for all - every Wednesday 11am to 1pm till the end of October upstairs in Adrigole Arts.  A chance to get together in a warm, supportive group where you can sing a song, play an instrument, read a poem or a piece of writing or just sit and enjoy! 


Bingo continues in Adrigole at 8pm on Tuesdays and at 8.15pm currently in Lauragh until Tuosist hall is back up and running.

No matter your age, it’s never too early to prepare for the future. Citizens Information will guide you through the process of making a will, ensuring your wishes are clear and respected. Open to everyone — practical, friendly, and informative.

Parent and Baby Talks - November/December

This series of talks is for parents and babies (0-12months). This is an opportunity for parents to meet, connect, and share their experiences.

Nov. 25th-  Lily O Shea will deliver a session on Baby Massage.

Dec. 5th -   Joanna Riddell will give a session on Postpartum Women’s Health.

These talks are held on Tuesdays at Beara West from 10.30am to 12pm. For more information contact 027 70998.


Women’s Group presents: Make Your 2026 Vision Board

Monday December 8th – 7pm to 8.30pm

Set your goals and dreams for 2026 at this fun event.  Cut, paste, tear and collage pictures and text from old magazines. This is a chance to let out the old and bring in the new.

You don’t need to be crafty or creative to join in.  Just come along and let your ideas flow.

Free English Classes for Children - Mondays in November & December

Classes are open to students in the Beara area. Please contact us for the timetable or to book a place.

Wednesdays 2.15pm to 3.30pm - Rhythm Room

The Rhythm Room offers some fun time together singing and sharing stories, chat and more. Booking is required to make sure you get a seat - spaces are limited. Phone the Centre on 027 70998.


Meals on Wheels

A team of dedicated volunteers deliver low-cost nutritious meals every Thursday directly to your door. The meals change each week and offer a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian.  Please contact Beara West Family Resource Centre on a Monday to order your meal.


One Good Coach Online Workshop

The ‘One Good Coach’ programme, developed by Jigsaw and Laois GAA, highlights the important role coaches play in supporting young people’s mental health. This free online workshop focuses on building resilience and confidence in young people while helping coaches become approachable, supportive figures for their players.

The programme is delivered online and is approx. 40 minutes. If interested, contact Joanne on

Toy Library

We now provide a Toy Library for 0-5 year olds. Become a member for an annual fee of €10 for a child or €20 for a family. Toys can be rented for one month at a time. For more information, call us on 027 70998 or email reception@bearawest.ie


Beara West Care Ring – Winter Wellbeing Programme

Recognising the challenges that the winter months can bring, Beara West Care Ring is offering a Winter Wellbeing Telephone Service. If you would like to receive regular friendly phone calls over the winter — just for a chat, a listening ear, or a bit of company — please get in touch. Seniors Alert Scheme

If a monitored personal alarm at home would give reassurance for anyone unwell or living alone, we facilitate setting up the Senior Alert Scheme


Low-cost Counselling

Beara West can connect you with a trained therapist who provide a confidential space for you to talk through any challenges you are facing. This service is available at a low-cost.

We also have meeting rooms available to book, including on Monday & Thursday evenings up to 8.45pm.
